Fire fighters from the City of Cape Town returned with 10 medals from the Toughest Firefighter Alive competition that was held in Mossel Bay last week.
Additionally, Baigum Abrahams retained her title as the top female fire fighter in the country. The 26-member team, consisting of 7 women & 19 men from the Fire & Rescue Service, achieved an impressive haul of 6 gold, 2 silver & 2 bronze medals.
“Our fire fighters have once again proven their metal by bringing home the medals.
They are some of the toughest, bravest and most dedicated women & men in uniform,
and we are exceptionally proud of them. Well done to the team,’ said the City’s Mayoral
