House completely destroyed in gas explosion, off-duty officer rescued man from the burning rubble

A man is lucky an off-duty Ridgefield police officer lives a few doors down when his New Jersey home exploded Monday afternoon.
According to NorthJersey.com, firefighters are trying to determine what caused the explosion.
Officials confirmed that the one man was injured, but did not say how serious those injuries were.
The off-duty officer who pulled the flaming debris off him was not hurt.
Police used dogs to make sure there were no other victims as firefighters doused the flames with water.
The local gas company did send out its own investigator in case it was a gas leak.
